The Biggest Surprise of My Life
Here's momma and her bundle of joy that finally is here! Jase Michael Newsome was born on Sunday November 21, 2010 at 8:06 pm at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. When Jase was born, he weighed 6 pounds 3 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long; He's definitely our cute little man :) His birth was a complete blessing for it was perfect timing: Mike got to come home on November 23 for a 3 day Thanksgiving break from deployment so he came just in time to stay one night at the hospital with us, take our cute family home the next day (My 20th Birthday!!!) and spend all 3 days at home spending quality daddy-son time. I will never doubt heavenly father again because he knows what's best for us and this birth couldn't have been any more perfect. I love you Jase and I'm thankful to have you in my life and be your momma :)!
Here's Jase laying skin to skin with me just hours old. I absolutely love how his mouth is open while he's sleeping- so cute; definitely got that from his momma lol. He is absolutely beautiful and couldn't be anymore perfect; he was the healthiest he could be and throughout the whole pregnancy and his early life nothing has gone wrong; I'm definitely a happy momma! I think Jase looks a lot like his Daddy which I absolutely love! He got his dad's pointed ears :), his toes, his blue eyes and his hair line. He got my hair color at birth and my chubby cheeks! Me and Mike definitely make a cute baby! :)
Here's Jase's cute feet! They're so tiny as well as the rest of his body but he's still perfect and cute in his mother's eyes. This night was definitely the craziest night of my life; I was caught off guard and didn't have the slighest idea that he was coming. I actually was becoming down lately because I began to think he wasn't coming before Mike's 3 day break so I was so happy that he did! The reason I was down was earlier that morning I had got really sharp contractions every 20 minutes until around 2 pm where I had taken a hot shower and they stopped completely- I had gotten myself excited cause I thought I could possible go into labor that day but when they stopped I knew it wouldn't happen. Later around 5 pm, I rode with Mom and Nicole to stay the night at their house (about a 40 minute drive) and the contractions started again but they were 10 minutes apart this time. I had thought they were just the fake ones like earlier that are just preparing my body for labor; I told myself once they were 5 minutes apart I'd worry. On the way to the house, I realized I really had to use the restroom so once we got to the house I was determined to run into the house as fast as I can. As soon as I took one step into the door, my water broke! (this was about 6pm) We had to drive back past my parents' work to the hospital which is an hour drive with the contractions being 4 minutes apart....
Here's our little man again in his cute hat the hospital gave him and cuddled in his blanket; SO CUTE!!!! .... (continuing from previous picture) We finally arrived at the hospital at 7 pm where the contractions started to become unbearable. When I got into my gown and onto the bed, I felt like I almost wanted to push; this worried the nurse so she checked my cervix. Surprised with the result, she measured my cervix at 7 cm dilated and 100% effaced. She called in another nurse for help because they were so behind and not even close to being ready for the baby to come. We also found out that the bacterial test I took the week before came back positive so they needed to get antibiotics in me quickly. Once they finally got the IV in me, my cervix was measured at 10 cm dilated and I was ready to push NOW! They only got one out of the two doses of antibiotics in me which probably didn't even get to the baby lol and we were in such a hurry that the other nurse had to hold the baby monitors onto my stomach instead of being strapped on while I struggled through the pain and throughout the rest of labor. The doctor still wasn't there!- she was still about 10 to 15 minutes away so I had to go through 5 contractions with the strongest urge to push and I couldn't; this was probably the worst pain ever....
Here's Jase at one day old when Mike's family came to visit us at the hospital. The shirt the hospital gave him is so huge on him lol. ..... (labor story continue) Once Doctor Casper got there she threw on her gown, mask and gloves, sat down and told me to go for it. After 4 to 5 contractions and 3 pushes each, our baby boy was born :) Silly man scared us because he came out with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck not once, not twice but 3 times! The doctor quickly cut his neck free and he was breathing just perfectly fine, passed his apgar score and was perfectly healthy. I guess Jase was just really active and moving like crazy in my belly; silly man :) I was so thankful that my mom was my labor coach cause she really helped me through the pain even with me fidgeting like crazy; she even stayed the first 2 nights at the hospital with me! Thank you Mom, you were my life saver and I love you so much! :) From my water breaking to when Jase was born, I was only in labor for two hours with one hour being at the hospital! Crazy huh? I was so lucky to have a fast labor and Jase stil be healthy even with him being born early. I love you Jase and I know Mike will fall crazily in love with you too!
This is a picture of Jase that the hospital took to post on their online virtual nursery (www.bozemandeaconess.com). This was the day Mike got to take me and Jase to our home for his first time :). Silly man was so tired when taking this picture that he wouldn't open his eyes one bit and he has the cutest pouting face lol. I gotta love him! I can't wait til I get to see him smile and I know Mike is just as excited too. It was so nice having Mike with me during the night but I felt so bad cause we didn't get any sleep with Jase's fussing. I really love my husband and my son more than anything ever and I'm so grateful to have my cute eternal family! :)
He is perfect and precious and adorable and tiny and cute and sweet and wonderful and so dang loved!!! Congrats guys!
