Quality time between Dad and son

Daddy Jase Time during his
Thanksgiving break

This picture is absolutely priceless! I love it; my family is just so adorable :) Yes I'm bragging lol but I feel so lucky to have them! I'm so glad Mike was able to come home to see our son before he deploys to Afghanistan. We will miss him dearly but he's doing something so important where we can stay strong and happy for him. It's just one year; we have a million more to spend together :). Jase definitely looks a lot like his daddy but I love it cause it's like I have a little piece of Mike with me!

Look how tiny Jase looks in Mike's hands :) Our son is such a cutie but can be a stinker also lol especially when he keeps scratching his face as you can see in this picture. What a dork lol; I feel so bad because he keeps hurting himself and he hates wearing his mittens lol. I gotta love him! :).... and his daddy too!

I love his facial expression in this picture! :) He just knows how to make me smile every second of every day; except when he's being fussy lol. It's so cute how all his clothes drown him but I know he'll fit into them soon; hopefully not too soon :).

Here's Jase snoozing in Daddy's lap after his feeding and being burped by Mike. I loved how much Mike helped me during these couple days especially at nights when I got too stressed. I'll definitely miss his help but I know he's the best dad Jase could ever have and that he'll be home soon to help me with Jase terrible 2's lol.

Oh boy I turn 20

My 20th B-day!
November 24, 2010

By the way, If you haven't noticed yet but the last couple of posts are out of order, oops. lol. I just got so excited to get them done that I didn't pay attention to put them in order. And I don't know if there's any way to rearrange them so that's why they're mixed up lol. Just bear with me and enjoy! :)

This was also the day that Mike arrived at the airport for his 3 day break and the day Jase came home from the hospital for the first time; I couldn't have got any better of gifts for my birthday! :) Here's my cake that Mike made for me; it's strawberry with strawberry icing covered in strawberries, YUM!!!! I loved it! It tasted the best; thanks my love for the best birthday including the chinese dinner (my favorite!) you brought home for me and my video camera :). My husband was definitely way too nice to me to give me the best birthday ever!!! :) Thanks my love; I owe you big time! FYI, the next birthday you're home I'll pay you back :).

This is me blowing out my 20 candles; oh boy that's definitely too many lol. Ben had asked me if I made a wish and all I could think was there's nothing else I can wish for; I have everything I want right here: being happy with my cute little family including our Jase and the best husband in the world! :) Happy Birthday to me!!! I'll definitely never forget this day :)

My two most favoritest people in the whole world who made this day the best!!! Thanks Mike and Jase! I love you both like crazy!!! Don't they look so cute together :) I love Jase's outfit especially the lion on his bum :) I couldn't get any luckier with the family I have; I can't wait til we can be all together again next year! :) I love you Mike with all my heart! I'll see you soon :)

Jases first ornament

Jase's 1st Christmas Ornament

Mike's family has a cool Christmas tradition of buying an ornament for each family member each year; we both absolutely love this tradition so we want to continue it for our family too :) So while Mike was here, we decided to go ornament shopping where Mike picked out this one for Jase's first one. Isn't it cute?!!! He did really good :) You can kinda also see the one Mike picked out for himself in the right corner of the picture; I thought it suited this year pretty well with Mike going on deployment and serving our country :) I had so much fun shopping for ornaments with our little family; Thank you Mike for such a great time and the best 3 days ever! :)

Jase's blessing 11-26-10

Jase's Baby Blessing
November 26, 2010

Jase looks so precious sleeping in this picture :). Because Jase was born before Mike came home for his Thanksgiving break, Mike got to give our son his baby blessing! We just did the blessing at our apartment while the Newsomes came over along with Bishop Monson from our ward. Because Jase's birth was so unexpected, he wore Mike's baby blessing outfit which was so big on him lol but absolutely cute!

Here's momma and daddy with little Jase :) Don't we look like a cute family? :) I'm very lucky and grateful to have such an amazing eternal family and even luckier that we got to be together these three days! The blessing Mike gave Jase was the most beautiful blessing I have heard and the spirit was so strong and comforting that I couldn't have felt any happier especially being with my family. There are definitely no regrets in my life because everything happened perfectly and I couldn't have asked for any better of a life! I love you Mike and Jase with all my heart forever and ever!!!! Never forget it k :)

Here's the cute Newsomes again :) These pictures of our family turned out amazingly cute; Thanks Holly for taking pictures of this unforgettable moment. I'll sure miss having Mike here with me and Jase but I know he's doing something so important right now that a lot of people wouldn't do. Mike's is our hero for sacrificing so much to keep us and our country safe! Thanks Mike for everything you do for us; we couldn't have got any better of a Dad and husband :) We love you so much!
Here's our hero; Jase's Daddy; my amazing husband; my eternal companion; my best friend; our U.S. Army soldier :) I love this picture how it has my most favorite people in the whole world :) that I love like crazy! Jase looks so much like his Daddy but I absolutely love it cause while Mike is gone it's like I have a little piece of him at home with me :) They look so cute together!!!

While Mike was here, we decided to decorate our apartment with Christmas decorations, set up the Christmas tree and buy our ornaments (Jase's first ornament!) so he didn't have to miss out on it because he'll be in Afghanistan. We had so much fun eventhough Jase was asleep the whole time lol and I will never forget the joy and happiness I felt being with Mike these 3 days- the best 3 days of my life!!! I'm so grateful he got to see and spend time with our first child; we are truely blessed! Be safe out there for us k Mike! You'll always be within our prayers, thoughts and dreams! Have fun and go kick some bad guy butt for us! We love you!!!

Mike meets his son and leaving the hospital

Daddy and Son Finally United :)

On November 23 (2 days after Jase is born) Mike came home to see us for his 3 day Thanksgiving break from deployment. His flight came in at 11:30 pm and he didn't arrive at the hospital til 1 am- my 20th Birthday, crazy lol. I love seeing Mike hold and love Jase; they really do look so cute together. My favorite moment was when jase was laying with Mike on the hospital bed and they were both sound asleep. I'll never forget how amazing my eternal family is and how lucky I am to have them both. I love you Mike!!! I'm so grateful you got to see our son before going to Afghanistan and I really enjoyed these 3 days with you- definitely the best 3 days of my life!

I love this picture!!!! Look how Jase is locking his fingers with both his hands together as if he's praying; I love it! He surprises me more and more each day and makes me smile every single second. I'm so grateful to have Jase especially with Mike leaving to go back on his deployment off to Afghanistan because Jase really does keep me strong and happy when I'm down. I love you buddy with all my heart!

Here's Jase of the morning of heading home for the first time; we finally get to leave the hospital after being there for 3 days lol. Aw it looks like he's almost smiling :) Jase is definitely great at getting pictures lol with his eyes closed, shirt in his mouth! I love it, I love it, I love it! Jase I'll definitely never get bored or down with you in my life :) By the way, it's a winter wonderland and -10 degrees outside when we took Jase home; a huge snow storm came through while we were in the hospital. What a great way to first see the world lol.

Here comes our baby boy

The Biggest Surprise of My Life

Here's momma and her bundle of joy that finally is here! Jase Michael Newsome was born on Sunday November 21, 2010 at 8:06 pm at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. When Jase was born, he weighed 6 pounds 3 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long; He's definitely our cute little man :) His birth was a complete blessing for it was perfect timing: Mike got to come home on November 23 for a 3 day Thanksgiving break from deployment so he came just in time to stay one night at the hospital with us, take our cute family home the next day (My 20th Birthday!!!) and spend all 3 days at home spending quality daddy-son time. I will never doubt heavenly father again because he knows what's best for us and this birth couldn't have been any more perfect. I love you Jase and I'm thankful to have you in my life and be your momma :)!

Here's Jase laying skin to skin with me just hours old. I absolutely love how his mouth is open while he's sleeping- so cute; definitely got that from his momma lol. He is absolutely beautiful and couldn't be anymore perfect; he was the healthiest he could be and throughout the whole pregnancy and his early life nothing has gone wrong; I'm definitely a happy momma! I think Jase looks a lot like his Daddy which I absolutely love! He got his dad's pointed ears :), his toes, his blue eyes and his hair line. He got my hair color at birth and my chubby cheeks! Me and Mike definitely make a cute baby! :)

Here's Jase's cute feet! They're so tiny as well as the rest of his body but he's still perfect and cute in his mother's eyes. This night was definitely the craziest night of my life; I was caught off guard and didn't have the slighest idea that he was coming. I actually was becoming down lately because I began to think he wasn't coming before Mike's 3 day break so I was so happy that he did! The reason I was down was earlier that morning I had got really sharp contractions every 20 minutes until around 2 pm where I had taken a hot shower and they stopped completely- I had gotten myself excited cause I thought I could possible go into labor that day but when they stopped I knew it wouldn't happen. Later around 5 pm, I rode with Mom and Nicole to stay the night at their house (about a 40 minute drive) and the contractions started again but they were 10 minutes apart this time. I had thought they were just the fake ones like earlier that are just preparing my body for labor; I told myself once they were 5 minutes apart I'd worry. On the way to the house, I realized I really had to use the restroom so once we got to the house I was determined to run into the house as fast as I can. As soon as I took one step into the door, my water broke! (this was about 6pm) We had to drive back past my parents' work to the hospital which is an hour drive with the contractions being 4 minutes apart....

Here's our little man again in his cute hat the hospital gave him and cuddled in his blanket; SO CUTE!!!! .... (continuing from previous picture) We finally arrived at the hospital at 7 pm where the contractions started to become unbearable. When I got into my gown and onto the bed, I felt like I almost wanted to push; this worried the nurse so she checked my cervix. Surprised with the result, she measured my cervix at 7 cm dilated and 100% effaced. She called in another nurse for help because they were so behind and not even close to being ready for the baby to come. We also found out that the bacterial test I took the week before came back positive so they needed to get antibiotics in me quickly. Once they finally got the IV in me, my cervix was measured at 10 cm dilated and I was ready to push NOW! They only got one out of the two doses of antibiotics in me which probably didn't even get to the baby lol and we were in such a hurry that the other nurse had to hold the baby monitors onto my stomach instead of being strapped on while I struggled through the pain and throughout the rest of labor. The doctor still wasn't there!- she was still about 10 to 15 minutes away so I had to go through 5 contractions with the strongest urge to push and I couldn't; this was probably the worst pain ever....

Here's Jase at one day old when Mike's family came to visit us at the hospital. The shirt the hospital gave him is so huge on him lol. ..... (labor story continue) Once Doctor Casper got there she threw on her gown, mask and gloves, sat down and told me to go for it. After 4 to 5 contractions and 3 pushes each, our baby boy was born :) Silly man scared us because he came out with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck not once, not twice but 3 times! The doctor quickly cut his neck free and he was breathing just perfectly fine, passed his apgar score and was perfectly healthy. I guess Jase was just really active and moving like crazy in my belly; silly man :) I was so thankful that my mom was my labor coach cause she really helped me through the pain even with me fidgeting like crazy; she even stayed the first 2 nights at the hospital with me! Thank you Mom, you were my life saver and I love you so much! :) From my water breaking to when Jase was born, I was only in labor for two hours with one hour being at the hospital! Crazy huh? I was so lucky to have a fast labor and Jase stil be healthy even with him being born early. I love you Jase and I know Mike will fall crazily in love with you too!
This is a picture of Jase that the hospital took to post on their online virtual nursery (www.bozemandeaconess.com). This was the day Mike got to take me and Jase to our home for his first time :). Silly man was so tired when taking this picture that he wouldn't open his eyes one bit and he has the cutest pouting face lol. I gotta love him! I can't wait til I get to see him smile and I know Mike is just as excited too. It was so nice having Mike with me during the night but I felt so bad cause we didn't get any sleep with Jase's fussing. I really love my husband and my son more than anything ever and I'm so grateful to have my cute eternal family! :)

A month til Jase's due date

One Month til Jase's Due Date
and Counting!

Here's me and my cute baby bump at 36 weeks along! I can't believe I have only a month left til I get to hold our lil man in my arms! :) I'm overly anxious but nervous about becoming a momma; I hope I can be the best mother I can for Jase. I'm definitely ready for him to come; these braxton hicks and heart burn is killing me lol. My new motto is Tums is a pregnant woman's best friend!!!!

Here's that soon-to-be-momma at 37 weeks; one week closer til I get to see Jase, YAY!!! My body is definitely getting me ready to be a mother; no sleep whatsoever during the nights lol. I have a nightly schedule with all the restroom trips as well as the fake contractions and heartburn keep me up all night. I wake up at 12 am, 2 am and finally 4 am exactly every night lol. They'll soon be replaced with our son; at least he's cuter :) Just kidding he's definitely more important than sleep!

Here's me at 37 weeks again; only 3 more to go... woo hoo! My luck he'll be born two weeks later just because I'm so anxious to see and hold him lol. I convince myself everyday that he's coming and every night I'm told otherwise. I guess he'll come when he comes because Heavenly Father knows what's best for our son and us so all I can do is trust him and wait. I'm not too excited about the waiting part lol; these last weeks have definitely been the longest weeks of my life lol. At least I look cute with my baby belly :) I can't believe how big I'm getting; I don't know if I can handle getting any bigger lol.

Day before Deployment

Us On Family Day Before
Mike Deploys

As an army couple, we look pretty darn cute! Both Me and Mike drove down to Ogden, Utah so we could be with each other the last couple of days before he starts deployment. The unit held a family day so everyone can be together, have a barbecue, and get to know the other families at the unit before their loved ones leave.

He always makes me smile no matter what he does! :) I sure got lucky finding Mike and even luckier to be his eternal companion! It was hard to say good-bye to him but I know we'll both be strong and that we'll grow significantly as individuals as well as a couple. Our love will just continue to grow eventhough we're apart and become even stronger.

This will definitely be one the of things I'll crazily miss- seeing Mike smile! :) Smiles are definitely contagious especially Mike's; when he smiles, I'm doomed to smile back lol. Just kidding I love how this works :) He'll always be within my prayers that he'll be happy even when times are hard and that he'll return home safely. I'm very proud of my army soldier for the sacrifices he's making and for deciding to perform this honorary deed. I love you Mike! I'll see you soon arms wide open :)

Our Halloween together

Me and Mike Carving Pumpkins
Together :)
AWWW!! Look at that cute couple! :) Because Mike's deployment starts on October 7, we thought because we couldn't celebrate our first Halloween together as a married couple that we would celebrate it before he leaves. So we HAD to carve pumpkins together because it's one of my favorite things about Halloween! :)
Hey look! There's three pumpkins! :) Just kidding. I thought this picture was absolutely adorable with me holding my big baby belly next to them :). Jase is definitely getting bigger by the day; It's crazy thinking he'll be in my arms soon!
This is Mike's pumpkin-carving-concentration face :) I was too scared to cut the opening out of the top of my pumpkin so Mike cut mine for me. He's just way too nice to me for all the little (especially the BIG!) things he does for me. Thanks my love! I'll sure miss how much you care for me while your playing army!

Here's me and my pumpkin once it's done! :) I looked absolutely stunning don't I? lol. So I decided to make a dragon- I thought I'd tell you so I wouldn't get embarrassed with your guesses because you couldn't tell what it is, lol. No, I had lots of fun and I think it turned out pretty cute :)

Here's my husband, that I love like crazy :), and his pumpkin! He decided to make a ghost that turned out absolutely amazing but the coolest part was the back. You'll see why in the next picture (hopefully it's not too hard to see; I tried my best taking the picture with it being in the dark).

If you look really closely you can see the word "BOO" glowing behind Mike's pumpkin. Isn't that the coolest thing you have ever seen?!!! :) I thought it was extrememly awesome and I enjoyed seeing our pumpkins in the dark! I'll definitely remember this Halloween and all the good memories we spent together throughout the next year. I love you Mike!

Mike's Pre-deployment Pics

Our Pre-Deployment
Photo Shoot

Holly wanted to get pictures of Mike in his ACU uniform and Class A's so she could send pictures to family during his deployment. So I asked if she could take pictures of us as well so I can hang them around the house and post pictures of Mike everywhere so Jase can see what his daddy looks like while Mike's gone for a year.

Here's another picture of Mike in his ACU's at a bridge located next to Three Forks. This is probably my favorite in this uniform- I say probably because I like them all and I can't pick a favorite :)

Aww... look at that cute military couple ("family"-you can even see Jase) :) I personally love seeing Mike in his ACU's. One of the many benefits of being an army wife! I have to be positive somehow :)

This would've been a perfect picture if Mike hadn't closed his eyes! lol Just kidding it's still cute :) I just have to give him a hard time because he has the most difficulties taking pictures looking into the sun. So cute!!!

I definitely love this one as well; it's just too dang difficult to pick out a favorite! :) All these pictures are so darn cute! Thank you Holly for all the gorgous pictures- I'll definitely have fun hanging ALL of them around the house especially if I can't decide which ones to chose :)

This picture is so cool- He just looks soooo handsome! I love how the flag looks behind him- it was quite fun trying to hold it up just myself. It was a circus trying to put the poll of the flag between the recliner cushion and me on the other side holding the flag straight while at the same time not getting in the picture. Fun times! :)

Another cute picture of us! I'm so glad to have these pictures to look at while Mike is deployed to Afghanistan so I can remember why I'm proud of him and the reason why I must be strong while he is gone. I love him more than anything and I'll pray every morning and night that he'll be safe and return home unharmed.

1st year anniversary celebration

Our 1st Year Anniversary Celebration-
September 29, 2010 :)

Me and Mike decided that because Mike deploys on October 7, 2010 and we can't be together for our first year anniversary that we would celebrate our anniversary together on a different date before he deploys- Sept. 29. For our anniversary we decided to have a nice dinner at our favorite restaurant- Outback Steakhouse. Later we went to our apartment where we could eat a piece, maybe a couple pieces :), of our wedding cake together.

I had to add this picture because everytime I look at it I can't help to smile. I have a dork of a husband, just kidding :), but that's what makes my life fun and entertaining! This was taken just before we cut our cake and ate it together. German Chocolate cake- YUM!!!

We also decided to drink sparkling cider with our toasting glasses from our wedding. Aren't they absolutely adorable that together they form a heart :)

Both of us making a toast that the next year we will be strong, happy and safe as we're separated from each other. I know this deployment will be hard on both of us, but I know that we are strong as well as our love for each other. Times may be tough, but I feel comforted knowing that no matter what happens, me and Mike have each other for eternity :) I love you Michael Edwin Alexander Newsome! Forever and ever no matter what! Thank you for chosing me to be your eternal companion and for starting an eternal family with me :)

Our Baby Bar-B-Que

Me and Mike's BABY Bar-B-Que
For Jase!

For our baby shower I wanted Mike to be involved as well with him missing Jase's first year because of deployment so we had a barbecue so both genders could come. We decided to have it at the park located on our apartment grounds on September 25. It was an absolutely gorgous day, with NO RAIN, and both me and Mike's family came into town!

Even Mike's best friend, Leandra, could make it from Utah! Everything went great: we had plenty of yummy food, lots of activities to do including playing volleyball, and we had a lot of people come support us. This is Zach, me, Mike and Leandra playing the ring toss game. Do you like my victory dance? :) Can you tell who is winning? Ya right, Mike and Zach whooped me and Leandra's butts- we were just doing good at the time lol.

Me and Mike holding the cake that my Grandma and Grandma McCown bought for us. It was so so delicious; it was vanilla cake with raspberry creme along the inside. I definitely ate way too much of it!- I couldn't help myself :)

Both of us opening up Jase's gifts together towards the end of the barbecue. Look at that teamwork- so so s0 cute! We are extremely grateful for all the gifts we received and for all the help and support we received to make this barbecue happy. Thank you everyone for helping! We definitely wouldn't be able to get ready for Jase to come without everyone's help :)

Trip to the Billings Temple

Our Trip to the Billings LDS Temple

Both me and Mike missed going to the temple and felt bad that we couldn't make it as much as we used to in Utah with it being two hours away. Finally we decided we needed to at least go one more time together before Mike deploys so we invited Rick and Holly to come down with us.
I'm so thankful we went to the temple; I felt so happy, relaxed and filled with joy especially being able to do it holding hand and hand with Mike. We even got to be the witness couple again which was definitely rewarding. I'm truely blessed to have Mike in my life especially with him being the one to bring me into the LDS church.

This is another one of my favorite pictures- we just look so cute together :) You can tell my belly is even bigger here; it's crazy to think I only have like 2 months till I get to hold Jase in my arms. I have a beautiful eternal family- the best I could ever have!
